The Judge Advocate General of Israeli army was asked to watch the realization of the smoking ban on military bases. The remedial organization, which promotes smoking ban in Israel, sent a letter to the general with the following words: officers are responsible for the fact that in every army troops this smoking ban has to be satisfied.

Activists from the organization assert that in spite of the order from the Israeli Army Join Staff to forbid smoking cigarettes on bases, many soldiers got into touch with the organization and complained about order disregard. The law is applied on national servicemen, officers and reservists. Until now, smoking ban limited to smoking cigarettes at work place, however military service was not defined as work place.

General smoking ban on playgrounds and military facilities will let teens now about all disadvantages of smoking, according to the law's initiator. According to the scientific research, the majority of smokers took to cigarettes smoking from their youth up or during military service that is why this amendment to act is very important for them.
